Standard

On 5th December 2010, Mark Zuckerberg, the Founder and CEO of Facebook discussed the update to the Facebook Profile Page. In the interview, he said it will be available tomorrow. He kept his promise and changes were available, the very next day.

If you still haven’t updated your profile click here.

Zuckeberg said “People love photos, photos originally weren’t that big a part of the idea for Facebook, but we just found that people really like them, so we built out this functionality.”

Therefore new layout  showcases your bio information at the top with a feed of your latest photos right under that.  There are more graphics under what’s important to you and a sports section.  It allows you to highlight special relationships, and adds the wall, info, and photos links on a menu on the left.

Users can now highlight important relationships and create groups of friends. A new “infinite scroll” feature allow faster browsing of large lists of posts and photos. And the search capabilities on the Friends page have been improved. The larger advertising space on the right is a big plus for business.

However, the new Facebook profile design isn’t immediately available. The company is planning to roll it out gradually, with the goal of reaching all of the site’s users by early next year.
